Muhammad Ali Sadpara, a Pakistani mountaineer, made history by climbing the world’s second-highest mountain K2 in the winter season.
Muhammad Ali Sadpara and his son Sajid Ali Sadpara had set out on a campaign to reach the top of K2 but Sajid had returned because of his oxygen regulator malfunctioning.
The climber stopped at a very high altitude for only 8 minutes as the communication system was frozen due to cold.
Muhammad Ali Sadpara set a world record by topping the world’s second-largest peak without oxygen and proudly displayed the Pakistan flag upon reaching the peak of K2.
This is the first time that a Pakistani has climbed K2 in winter while this is the second time to ascend K2 in winter.
Ascending K2 is a task for a master climber and Fazal Ali was the first Pakistani to have ascended to the summit of on three different occasions.
